There is so much you can learn by assessing your stool.
So what does shape mean?
Shape has a lot to do with level of hydration & rate of our digestive tract. When we have hard round pebble poo or "bunny turds" it often means our rate of digestion is slow and it can also indicate dehydration.

Next we have the "bulky caterpillar," things may be moving a bit better but dehydration may still be plaguing us. Or we may not be eating frequently enough to signal for a bowel movement and our poo is getting dehydrated in the large intestine from water reabsorption.
Moving on to our perfect poo! Smooth snake poopie without cracks in the surface. Perhaps even the coveted "sinky-no-wipe!" Regardless this is the ideal shape!

Then we end up on the other end of the spectrum. We have soft fluffy blobs that are a bit mushy. Perhaps things are moving so fast we can't absorb and process our food very well or perhaps we have some inflammation which is cranking up the speed.
Last but not least- the puddle. Yep, better known as diarrhea. Well, friend, it happens. Things are moving and grooving in there and nothing is slowing it down. Perhaps you have some inflammation, perhaps you ate something that just doesn't agree, or perhaps there are some bugs ganging up on you.
